The Zoning Hearing Board is comprised of three individuals, each appointed by the Supervisors to three year, staggered terms. The Zoning Hearing Board meets monthly, as needed, to review requests from land owners and developers for variances (requests to waive certain requirements of the Zoning Ordnance), special exceptions (requests to use the land in ways permitted by the ordinance but that require special preparation and consideration), or appeals to the zoning officer’s decision, to name a few. The main goal of the Zoning Hearing Board is to interpret and meet the needs of the broadest group of Township constituents while remaining as true as possible to the spirit of the current ordinance.
The Board meets monthly, typically on the fourth Tuesday, as needed. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Meeting Room. Each hearing is advertised twice before the hearing in the Press-Enterprise and the property in question is posted with an announcement of the request.
Please call the office with any questions.
